Description
Crawfords S3L – I is engineered around a new EJ257 semi closed deck block that incorporates a counterweighted and balanced 79mm forged STI crankshaft, super strong Billet I beam rods that are longer than stock to give you a better rod ratio for making power and reducing side loads on the pistons / cylinder walls, Crawford Performance designed low detonation offset forged pistons. Incorporated into the block are high performance STI main and rod bearings and STI piston rings. These Genuine STI components allow for maximum safety and reliability and are designed to last for over 100,000 miles of service. No cheap aftermarket parts here. To keep with our high quality standards, we use Crawford offset wristpins to decrease the piston noise associated with forged pistons and we also use a smooth piston top to lesson detonation from un-burnt fuel. This has been our powerhouse engine for over 10 years now and is the power plant used in Ken Blocks Gymkhana cars.
*The final compression ratio of this motor is 8.3 to 1. Final compression is based off an un-surfaced USDM cylinder head with genuine STI parts and a combustion chamber volume of 57cc.
